If you are a motorbike enthusiast, then the Whale Rally is the event for you! The annual Whale Rally, presented by the Ulysses Motorcycle Club, is held in June and is a mecca for bikers from all over South Africa and as far afield as Canada & Germany.The Rally, which takes place at the Keurbooms Caravan Park and attracts some 1500 bikers, will be from 14-16 June this year and that’s only weeks away! Although the Rally is held in the middle of winter, the organisers guarantee that “you’ll have such a wonderful time that you won’t notice the cold” and with free firewood for the weekend – the bonfires will be blazing! The lifestyle of a biker is a unique one and this event, held in the heart of the Garden Route in beautiful Plettenberg Bay, is always a winner. We, at Amakaya Backpackers, are bikers ourselves and we are very much looking forward to a great weekend filled with bikes, music, prizes and more! And don’t forget to get out and explore the beaches, restaurants and activities of Plettenberg Bay.
