We recently visited the new Kay and Monty Vineyards for a meeting of the Plettenberg Bay Accommodation Association and what a wonderful time we had!

Kay and Monty is a newer vineyards in Plett that is forming part of the enormously popular new Plett Winelands – along with a number of other producing vineyards – many of which can be found in along Redford Road in The Crags, just outside Plettenberg Bay.

Kay and Monty

Kay and Monty Vineyards (originally Rare Earth) is an estate with a personality: their delightfully named “Sav” Sauvignon Blanc and “Champu” MCC bubbly are already popular choices in wine circles and their 2013 Sauvignon Blanc has won them an Old Mutual Gold Award.

The estate itself is something special, nestled at the end of Redford Road right next to the Tsitsikamma Mountains. The barn-like tasting room and restaurant also doubles as a function and wedding venue with lovely views across green pastures, a small lake and the mountains.

The restaurant is as quirky as Kay and Monty’s wines serving up delicious homemade goodies, elegantly served on rustic wooden boards and featuring delicious cheeseboards, pates and salads.
