This year’s Valentines Day in Plett is going to be very special with the launch of a brand new festival for our little town, the Plett Music Festival.
Hosted at the magical White House venue and with the Kids of Kurland charity as beneficiaries the dates 13-16 February 2014 are going to be exciting evenings in Plett filled with sultry summer air, music floating on the breeze and romance and melody in the air! :)
It’s no surprise that this Music Festival is proving very popular, as Plett has to be one of the most romantic places in South Africa! In addition, the artists performing are extremely talented and admired both locally & internationally – so if you are in the area, you don’t want to miss this fun Valentine’s weekend in Plett! And if you are further afield, the Plett Music Festival is worth planning a trip down for the weekend!
Schedule:
Thursday 13th February: Andrew Young “Sax, Blues & Rock ‘n Roll” – performing with a 6 piece band, the “Prince of the Saxophone” is set to open the Plett Music Festival with a memorable performance.
Friday 14th February: “Valentine Special” with Carol Thorns & Shelley Frost – a unique pairing of harp & cello in this Valentine’s evening performance by two internationally beloved musicians.
Saturday 15th February: The Swing Setters “Get Up & Dance!” – hugely popular “swingfunk & roll” band from Cape Town is sure to make Saturday night the party night of the festival!
Sunday 16th February: Rick van Heerden Quartet – accomplished jazz lecturers from Rhodes University (following a sell-out performance at the Grahamstown Festival) perform live together for the first time in Plett!
