The fourth annual Discovery Plett Easter Games was a huge success as the Easter weekend sporting events took place with perfect weather, sunshine and lots of fun!
Mountain biking, trail running, surf ski racing, swimming and golf have featured in previous years of the Plett Easter Games but, this year, 2 new events were eagerly anticipated – Tag Rugby® and CrossFit Games. Easter in Plett is becoming synonymous with sport in nature!
The beaches of Plett and the sheltered bay are perfect for Tag Rugby® and CrossFit, swimming and surf ski, while inland the trails are exciting and adventurous with breathtaking scenery. The perfect place for sporting enthusiasts to enjoy their favourite activity. There was even an Easter-themed sandcastle building contest for the kids.
The overall theme of the event was to encourage people to get active and have fun – not only from a physical perspective, but also within the community. Once again, as with other years, each of the Games’ events were linked to a local charity or community development programme and this year’s beneficiaries included: The Plett Nippers Nationals Campaign, Cycling Development, Golf Development and the Caddy Foundation, Adopt a Swimmer and The Plett Field Band.
The Plett Easter Games has certainly made Easter in Plett the place to be, with a festive atmosphere, challenging sporting events to suit most fitness levels and the usual awesome Plett weather!
