If you weren’t in Plett during the Plett MAD festival – we have only a few words for you – “you missed out!” In its second year the Plett MAD Festival, which ran over 3 weeks during the middle of the year (25 June – 11 July) and Plett Food Film Festival (9-11 July) saw sleepy Plett become a hive of activity – centered around all things Music, Art and Drama – all things MAD :)

The Plett Food Festival presented food and film pairings with the likes of celebrity chef, Reza Mahammad, the Kitchen’s Karen Dudley, popular local chefs, cheesemakers and winemakers pairing up with international films and talented musicians for the 3 nights of fabulous foodie film fun!

The rest of the Plett MAD Festival included country fair and markets, performances from Elvis Blue, Red Tape Riot and Pops Mohammed, art exhibitions, comedians and plays and even a seafood festival at the Beacon Island Hotel. As the Plett Wedge Classic bodyboarding contest also takes place during this time, you’d struggle to find a more diverse holiday programme – there was something for everyone. And since it is Plettenberg Bay’s Secret Season, there are specials aplenty – accommodation, activities and restaurants run specials during this time of year, so you’ll find a treat around every corner.

Have a look at what you missed this year and check out our Secret Season Special below…
