Spring is in the air, the whales are jumping and it’s the perfect time to fill up the car & hit the road! Who couldn’t do with a bit more sunshine and sea this year?
This October, the migration of the humpback whales has been quite spectacular, with as many as 40-50 whales currently in the bay. Whether you choose to take a drive along the coastline and stop at viewpoints around Knysna, Keurbooms and Plett, or hop on a whale-watching safari boat, we’re reasonably sure you’ll get a kick out of watching these marine giants breeching, flipper-and tail-slapping their way across the bay.

If you’ve got itchy feet, Plett’s activities should cure that with new short hikes at Knysna Elephant Park, Birds of Eden and Jukani to keep your toes twitching. For those looking for more of a challenge, why not do a trail run on Robberg or hike Salt River, or take a paddle up the Keurbooms River? There’s lots to get your blood pumping…

And speaking of getting your blood pumping…the Bloukrans Bungy now has a new zipline onto the bridge, Harkerville has an entirely new zipline experience along the Kranshoek coastline and Solo, the elephant seal that chases great white sharks, is currently in residence at Robberg.

If that isn’t enough to have you packing your bags, here are a few more options to encourage an impromptu spring road trip to Plettenberg Bay:
Skydive
Monkeyland
Plett Game Reserve
Swim with seals
Scuba diving
Surf Lessons
Plett Winelands
Stand-up paddling
Ocean kayaking
And so much more… Will we be seeing you in Plett soon?
